Published by Dark Horse Comics in 1994, Hellboy, the popular comic series created by Mike Mignola is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year! And now, Hellboy, the protagonist of the series, will be available as a “30th Anniversary Edition” action figure! Plus, Lobster Johnson, the legendary hero from the comics, will be available as an action figure in the same 1/12 scale as Hellboy! ■Hellboy 1/12 SCALE ACTION FIGURE 30th Anniversary Edition Package Contents: Main Figure, Interchangable Hand Parts, Handgun, Grimacing Face Part, Coat (Cloth Material), T-Shirt (Cloth Material), Excalibur, and Interchangeable Horns! *The figure itself is the same as the Hellboy 1/12 action figure released in 2019 from 1000toys, but the print on the T-Shirt, the accessories, and parts of the coloring have been changed. As the child between the demon Azzael and the witch Sarah Hughes, Hellboy’s demonic design is iconic with the red skin, long tail, horn stumps, hooved feet and gigantic right arm. Now, under the supervision of Mike Mignola, that design has been completely brought to life as a190mm, 1/12 scale action figure! The trench coat is made of actual cloth, with wires inside for manipulation. The trench coat can be taken off, revealing Hellboy’s muscular and uniquely proportioned body as drawn in the comics. The countless scars have also been molded into the sculpt, adding texture to the figure, while the weathering that was applied gives it more depth. The gun belt is intricately detailed, with the cross is attached to the belt by a ball chain. Many of the parts around the shoulder area are made of flexible material, making the joints look less noticeable while maintaining a wide range of articulation. The tail is connected to the body with a ball joint, and can be pointed in many angles. The giant arm is made of ABS plastic, so it is much lighter than it looks. Keeping it in an upright position will not be difficult. The right arm is double-jointed, giving it a wide range of articulation. The four fingers are also fully articulated, so they can be positioned in various poses. Two head sculpts are included in the package! And the interchangeable horns can be attached to both the normal and grimacing face. By swapping out the stumps with the horns, Hellboy can be displayed in his Anung Un Rama form. The upper body is made with flexible material that keeps it looking seamless, while the click joints on the inside enables the body to bend forwards and backwards for posing. The clicking sound it makes is part of the appeal as well, so we encourage you to pick it up and play with it. Excalibur, King Arthur’s legendary sword, is also included! The weapon is painted gold, and its edges look sharp because it is made of ABS material. The blade is chipped in many places, as depicted in the comics, and suits the heavily scarred Hellboy well. Both the articulated right hand and the left weapon-grip hand are capable of holding the sword. The big pistol can be held with the use of a dedicated hand part, but it can also be holstered to the gun belt as well. The pistol itself is painted in a metallic color, giving it a hefty look. Hellboy’s skill with the gun though.... is still a work in progress. For the design of the package, the cover of Hellboy Volume 1: Seed of Destruction is printed on the front! The HELLBOY 30th logo is also printed on top of the package in celebration of Hellboy’s 30th anniversary! The same cover art of the package is also printed on the front of the T-Shirt (Cloth Material) for the figure, which is a special feature of the 30th Anniversary Edition! But it’s not over yet, because we have this to show you as well! ■Lobster Johnson 1/12 SCALE ACTION FIGURE Lobster Johnson, the legendary hero that Hellboy was a big fan of as a kid! Dressed in his iconic black body suit with the lobster claw symbol on the chest, the sculpt for Lobster Johnson was made under the supervision of Mike Mignola, the same as HEllboy. Hailed as a combat expert, the Lobster fights crime with his trusty pistol and athletic abilities! The suit is intricately detailed, with creases and scratches throughout and a weathered finish that gives it extra texture. One feature that must be mentioned when talking about Lobster Johnson is the claw brand on his palm, which he uses to leave a brand on the forehead of the villains he defeated. The brand on the figure’s palm is sculpted, not printed, and painted orange. It also has a gimmick... Where it will glow when a black light shines on it, making it look like it is heated! The package itself does not include a black light, but the gimmick is definitely worth trying out if you have the chance! Accessories include a grimacing head sculpt and two handguns to go with various action poses. The guns can be holstered without removing or interchanging any parts. Like Hellboy, the upper body is made of flexible parts. As shown in the picture, the part that is marked in green hides the seam between the chest and the abdomen, keeping the lobster claw insignia intact without disrupting the articulation. The shoulder area has flexible parts as well, maintaining a good range of articulation for poses like extending the arms forward and lifting the arm up, while also looking seamless. The Lobster is a hero who fought as a vigilante long before Hellboy’s time, so they’re not really acquainted with each other. But as action figures, they can be displayed side by side!
